Americord Registry

Americord Registry is a cord blood bank company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in New York City. It uses a FDA approved drug to mobilize stem cells from the placenta and store them for future medical use. The proprietary process, called CordAdvantage, may preserve 7-10 fold the number of stem cells as compared to cord blood banking alone and make cord blood stem cell therapies viable for adults. On average, the typical cord blood collection contains only enough stem cells to treat a child of about 65 pounds. The company also offers traditional cord blood banking services. The company also offers the first reimbursement program designed to help qualified patients participate in stem cell therapy trials to treat cerebral palsy and other acquired neurological conditions. The management team includes the former Executive Medical Director of ViaCell / ViaCord, Dr. Robert Dracker.
